New music for brass
During its lasted two editions (2015-2016) the IVBIBF received the special participation of a Composer in Residence. He worked with several ensembles (Faculty Ensemble included) writing new pieces for brass ensembles whiches has been premiered during the Festival.
The composer in both editions was the swedish Stefan Johnsson; and the pieces were: «Encuentros» (2015), click to see the premiere videos: (1er Mov., 2do Mov., 3er Mov. ); «Isla Verde Bronces Aniversario, 3 Fanfarrias» (2016).
By the other hand, during the 2011-2014 editions, the IVBIBF launched 4 editions of a Brass Composition Contest (4 trpts, 3 trbns, 2 hns, Tuba).
